    This dryer did not work properly from the start, and had not been used more than ten times in the month since purchase when it stopped working completely. Vendor did not agree to replace with new dryer, quoting Speed Queen policy; instead repair person had to change everything: motor, thermostat, and Setting Dial. We were told a crucial part was defective. Now the new Setting Dial, cheaply made with plastic, still cannot be set properly, so one has to use a kitchen timer to keep track of drying time.     No gimmicks such as WiFi enabled. I have enough WiFi connections without adding my washer and dryer. Clothes get totally wet and clean.     I own two Speed Queen washers and am very pleased with them. I bought the Speed Queen dryer for it's rep a a straight forward, long lasting appliance. I was disappointed at installation when I was hit with an additional $125 charge to convert to a side venting model. The dryer's control dial is poorly laid out with much of the circumfrence devoted to low importance functions while the critical auto drying sensor is squeezed into a smal space with poor resolution. The dryer is quite noisy. All in all, it is too early for me to comment on the reliability.     I own a speed queen in Vermont and it's about 6 years old.. everyone in the house uses it for towels, sheets ski clothes. Dog beds and it works perfectly..     After owning a modern and "energy efficient" dryer that did NOT dry clothes even in 90 minutes (had to redo at least 2 times per load which is 3 hours!), it was time to go back to the old tried and true products. SPEED QUEEN has been around for many years and IS THE BEST! I can dry a load of towels in 30 minutes vs 90 minutes!     I replaced my 30 year old Kenmore with this dryer because it was taking so long to dry everything. While this dryer is more convenient to get the clothes out, it takes 2 full maximum cycles to get things mostly dry. Also the cycle selection dial is stiff and won't line up with the markings properly and the start button is mushy. I should have kept the old one.     My Speed Queen dryer is just over four years old and I was told that it would cost $1200 to repair it! Apparently, the felt around the front of the drum was faulty as it wore through/tore causing the drum to rub against the metal front part of the dryer (becoming noisy when running). Keep in mind, I only dry towels and blankets in this dryer, as I hang dry the rest of my clothing. I am EXTREMELY disappointed that I spent so much on a Speed Queen dryer thinking it would last (says "commercial grade- heavy duty" literally on the front!) and here I am four years later basically spending roughly the same amount to repair it as a new one would cost me.     The Speed Queen Dryer DC5003WE is an excellent dryer. However, it is one inch deeper than our previous dryer and are new Speed Queen washing machine. Both machines are located on our first floor adjacent to the kitchen in a closet with bi-fold doors. The new dryer stuck out so much that the delivery personnel had to take one of the doors off to put the dryer in place. We tried using the MV-180 Mag Vent to connect the lint exhaust pipe to a new straight hole in the wall vented to the garage. The dryer is electric. Unfortunately, that $63.14 purchase still made the dryer protrude too much thus making it impossible to put the bi-fold door back on. Finally, we decided to vent the dryer with a straight pipe to the garage indoor lint trap and hope the service person [if ever required] can re-attach the vent to the dryer exhaust pipe from the garage.     We purchased this about 4 years ago for our family of five. I was willing to pay more to get a durable, long lasting machine made in the US, as I use the dryer a lot! We had to replace the heating element at least once, maybe twice. The back vent on the dryer would always collect residue from synthetic clothing which would then harden on the vent making a rough surface that clothes would catch on. The dryer went out completely, and the part to repair it was over $500 plus parts and labor. It was outside of any covered warranty by Speed Queen.
