Cleans amazing, quiet , not flashy, a true work horse, BUT less than two years in it stopped drying. Called speed queen I actually talk to someone they said go through the people that purchased it from they got me set up with a repair place came out the next week diagnosed it and in another week had the part and the service guy fixed it the first time. The dryer heating element went bad within a year and a half from install. The repair guy stated that since convoys and supply chain issues, speedqueen changed to a poorer quality element which is needing replacement way more than the prior one. The washer we bought at the same time has needed replacement of the lid latch that also signals it's closed and won't allow operation when broken. This has happened twice now. We don't slam the lid down and it just seems to have broken on its own! I wonder if speed queen knows that their products sell based on reptutstion not looks or features. People want a reliable product and when purchasing something more commercial in quality, they expect it! Word of mouth spreads very quickly! What a shame. It doesn't live up to the hype! The pet cycle comes out damp, and I have to dry it. I never put wet items in to begin with. The filter is tiny and not removable, and it's hard to clean. In addition I think the dryer takes a very long time to dry a load of laundry. I also suggest that the washer and dryer have a longer or more noticeable signal when the load is done. I find that I have to wash things over & over even for simple things and small loads. We purchased this system thinking it was the best top of the line machine we could get. It has been the absolute worst. It took running the machine twice per load to get the clothes dry. We cleaned out the lent trap, the duct in the back and maintained this system as it states in the owners manual. The electrical components burnt up and this machine could have burnt my house down with my child home. No where in the owners manual does it state that we need to take the machine apart exposing underneath the drum to clean it. No I am told that we are up a creek without a paddle. Waste of $1,500. Lots of different drying options, and they all perform well. We have have noticed for the Auto-Sensing to work well and get clothes dry or near dry its important to make Sure that you are drying similar items such as towels with towels, or sheets with sheets and not to mix in a heavy towel with light Perm Press items or synthetics since the Auto-Sensing will most likely shut the dryer off prior to the towel being dry. The Steam Refresh is amazing, it works perfectly to remove light to moderate wrinkles in many different types of clothes. Machine is quite, the "Extended Tumble" option works as advertised, we really haven't had any issues with the DR7004WE in the almost 3 months we have owned it. This thing is so much more quiet and efficient than our old GE dryer, which at times sounded like it had a bowling ball inside. No vibrations or noise on the outside, just hums along doing its thing. We replaced a 22 year old Whirlpool Gold laundry pair with Speed Queen's top models. It's likely we won't use the steam feature much, but it is there if needed. The dryer is a little louder than the Whirlpool but does its job of drying clothes. Two immediately noticeable complaints were the end of cycle signal not being loud enough (at top volume) and the side opening door. The Whirlpool opened from the top which provided a "shelf" which prevented from dropping clothes on the floor. We miss that. Hopefully these appliances will be as reliable as they are advertised. After a really bad experience with an LG washing machine and dryer, we decided to make a better decision on the next purchase. Everyone spoke highly of the Speed Queen machines although they are not inexpensive. After we checked them out at the appliance store we were not impressed with the tinny material used on the washing machine and the dryer cabinet in comparison to the better finish of the LG and other machine cabinets.
