    We love our new refrigerator. We were concerned about the smaller size but the way it is set up with shelves and draws, there's quite a bit of space. The one minor issue is the ice maker is pretty loud. Wish they could figure out a way to make it quieter so it doesn't startle a person when dropping ice. Originally posted on www.ge.com

    Perfect Except for Filter Issue

    I love my new refrigerator except for an annoying filter issue that keeps popping up. The filter will show an error code every so often and the only way I found to clear it is to loosen the filter and then retighten it. I'm not sure if it's a defective filter or whether there's a quirk in the electronics, but it is annoying since the error code blocks the water and ice dispensers from working. I talked to a GE rep who volunteered to send a new filter, but who was not able to offer any other advice on why this was happening. Otherwise, I would have given this refrigerator 5 stars. It's fits beautifully into my kitchen and I've had no other issues. It replaces a 23 year-old GE refrigerator whose auto defrost quit working. My stove and dishwasher are also GE.     First, I must admit I'm working hard to 'buy' produicts 'Made in America'. This was a major reason for buying a GE appliance.The freezer doort is sprung - top out and bottom in. this has been the case on first one received and also on the replacement. Waiting for a GE technician to fix the door or replace it with one that is not sprung/bowed. Based on what occurs I will be happy complete the survey in an honest and detailed manner.     This product has the look of a full size fridge, yet it is not as deep. It's perfect for my small family and gives me extra space in my kitchen.     Just under two years and having temperature issues

    We love the slate look of the fridge and had no issues for almost 2 years. Now for the past month having the following issue. Compressor kicks on and drops freezer temperature to read -9. At that point frost is all over the freezer and fridge will sit right above freezing. After this temperatures will still show the -9 and 37 degrees on the display while the fridge will warm completely. I have had repairmen out three times already. Replacing parts and still having the issue. If you have purchased this continue with the extended warranties. Also, no error code is being displayed or can be found. Originally posted on www.ge.com

    I'm sorry to say that I am not impressed with what I see so far. Don't get me wrong, I love the way the refrigerator looks, but right out of the box I see the quality of this refrigerator compared to the 28 yr old GE Profile I just took to the basement. The doors aren't flush. I don't know if they can be adjusted or not. I do like that it's quieter than the old one and the slate finish does not show fingerprints.     HORRIBLE NOISES

    I bought this refrigerator in May 2020 and everything was fine for a few weeks but then the ice maker quit working. I scheduled an appointment and the repair guy came out and replaced the ice maker. The new ice maker was working fine and then out of nowhere it quit working again. Shortly after that... the NOISES began. Noises like I have never heard before. I could type several paragraphs but long story short... the same repair tech came to my house several times. He's a great guy and he did his best to get the problems fixed. He replaced the ice maker at least 4 times. Of course, the noises were never happening when he was here so I finally video recorded several examples for him. He was so stunned by the sounds that he called another tech over to my house so he could also hear the noises. They were both surprised by the noises and after running diagnostic tests they both agreed the right thing to do would be replace the fridge with a new one. They left my house sure they would be able to get me a new fridge. Well, apparently GE flat-out refused to replace the fridge. Instead, they sent the same guy out to replace several components. Here's the list copied directly from the receipt... (XWF Manifold & Tubing, Glide Bucket LH, Kit Harness Diode, Refrigerator Ice Maker Kit, Isolation Valve and Jumper, Board T Main SXS SS). Instead of replacing the fridge they spent hundreds of dollars throwing parts at it... and it STILL makes the most awful noises you've ever heard. People (myself included) can barely stand to sit in the kitchen or living room when the noises are happening (and it lasts for HOURS). I have to turn up the TV volume to drown out the loud fridge. At least the ice maker is still working. Other than the two repair techs (who I commend for trying their best) the only thing GE seemed interested in was selling me an extension on the warranty. You stick me with a total lemon of a refrigerator and then expect me to give you MORE money for a worthless warranty? Two lessons learned... never again buy a major appliance from Home Depot (they want nothing to do with you after you make the purchase) and stay far away from GE appliances. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to buy another refrigerator yet but when I can it will be from someone other than Home Depot and it will not be a GE product. I am very disappointed in both companies.     Previous refrigerator had large freezer section on the bottom with French doors up top which may allow a bit more storage, however I was constantly digging through stuff to find what I wanted.     We replaced our 33 year old GE side-by-side with this beautiful refrigerator, and we love it! We've only had it for 24 days but so far so good. One of the main reasons why we chose this specific model was not just for it's beautiful Slate color and countertop depth, which allows it to fit perfectly into our kitchen cabinetry, but also for it's interior lighting. On both the fresh food and freezer sides there are lights placed toward the front of both compartments from top to bottom, so you can clearly see what's in there. It's relatively quiet and there's plenty of storage space. It maintains temperature, and the icemaker works perfectly, which is a good thing because our old fridge didn't even have an icemaker!     Love the counter depth size. A couple issues I've noticed include slight resistance in closing the refrigerator door along with an anoying squeek when closing door. The freezer door has not closed tightly on a couple of occasions resulting in frost build up and persistant "running". I thought there would be an alarm to signify improper door closing. Although I have noted the alarm when leaving the refrigerator door open too long, there has been no alarm indicating the freezer door is not closed properly. Additionally, why did GE skimp on making door handles that reflect finger prints when combined with a body style (slate) that resists prints? This is Irritating. Originally posted on www.ge.com
